Hey, never mind all those Somali pirates. Now we've got Israeli pirates marauding around the eastern Mediterranean harassing and shooting up Gazan fishing boats when they're well inside Palestinian territorial waters, blockading Port Gaza, shelling Gaza's beaches and now ramming mercy boats on the high seas carrying medical supplies and doctors to Gaza. These thugs are well tooled up with their high-speed patrol boats bristling with guns. So when is the good ole Royal Navy going to show up, shoo them away and guarantee the freedom of the seas just like they used to?

Stansted: a reflection

The key question, in relation to protsts like that at Stansted last week, is: which side are you on? Are you on the side of big corporations profiteering from completely unsustainable climate-destructive behaviour? Or are you on the side of people with no vested interests just making a non-violent stand, at considerable cost to their own time and money, for the sake of all our futures?
