"Fib Dems" on the run, spreading misinformation about PR and the Green Party

The Lib Dems appear to be embarked on a deliberate campaign of misinformation about the Greens - presumably out of fear as to how well we might do on June 4th.

They have made misleading claims about the way the voting system works for the European elections, highly-misleading claims about previous election results (they are using general election results presented in a biased way typically), plain false claims about our EU policy position; and overall it is an attempt to suggest the "Greens cannot win", whereas of course we certainly can win, and it's looking likely that we may well do so in just a few days time. The latest polls give us enough support to win with, here in Eastern.

If you see Lib Dem leaflets or letters along these lines locally, please do get in touch with me so we can get a better picture of what they are doing.

Given that we are currently at our strongest position in the polls for 20 years, it looks unlikely that the Lib Dems will achieve what they are trying to do but it is nevetheless important that we give the voters the truth about our policies and the voting system and take every opportunity to do so in the last few days of the campaign.
That's what our 'Clean Campaign Pledge' [see earlier posts] is all about; no wonder, given what they are now doing, that the LibDems refused to sign up to it...

As usual nice to see you speaking out against more corruption.

I will be doing the leafleting for the Greens in Lowestoft monday, so I will ask about for the Lib Dem leaflets that day.

Good luck Rupert not long now!

From The Straight Choice link by Paul and the Lib Dem leaflet... "They know that there is no luxury of voting Green, it will only elect another Tory." Then it mixes up the general election results with the Euro outcome.

I spluttered with anger when I saw that. Total, absolute lies and dishonesty about PR, from the party that claims to be so in favour of it.

couldn't agree with you more Rayyan!

But at least we can feel some satisfaction, in the fact they perceive us as such a threat!

Haven't they been doing this sort of stuff for a few campaigns might be worth publishing previous false statistics with the actual results of the elections?
